In simple terms, bounce rate means calculating the percentage of the website visitor(s) who visited only one page of your website without having a look at the rest of the pages.

This single page is generally termed as the landing page of the website. Lower bounce rate of a website means that the website visitors were interested in finding out more information on your website. In other words, we can say that the landing page of your website is good enough to catch the attention of the target public.

It is suggested that the bounce rate should be lower than 50%. Also, for content (information) related websites, higher bounce rate is beneficial.
