In today’s world, it seems as though everything, every event, every date, every occasion calls for money. Is there anything or anywhere you can go without it costing a penny out of your pocket? To go to the movies today, I spent $12 (before 6 p.m.) for my relative and myself. If one goes on vacation, there are fees—flight, hotel, shuttle, taxi, leisure activities, entertainment, extra spending money, etc. A value meal for lunch will cost you no less than $ 5.00. Where can you go out for entertainment without spending $40-$50 for one day? Does anyone know?

Even today’s dating scene reflects this money / materialistic society we live in. I am a single 30 year old female with a car, house, and a career. Now when I talk to guys on the phone (pre-dating), they try to find out what I have to bring to the table—career, house, car, etc. If I answer “yes” to all three, then they are ready to move in together after only two weeks of talking on the phone and a couple of dates. Does finding love depend on what you own—what you bring to the table?

I guess the dating scene is really scary these days. You never know if the person likes you or your possessions? So I guess even love isn’t free.
