Distributing free ebooks is an internet marketing strategy topnotcher when it comes to promoting your blog. Not only for the reason that people love free things, ebooks are also great paraphernalia’s for a blogger to introduce his blog content to a wide range of targeted readers.

I Just Finished Writing My Ebook. Now What?

That’s great news! By the time I finished writing my own blogging ebook, I immediately used it to extensively gain attention and readers at the same time. And guess what, not only that it works, it works brilliantly! Successful company owners, marketers and bloggers have all harnessed the power of distributing free ebooks and each of everyone of them have garnerned more and more attention over the years.

Here’s what you should do with your finished ebook:

Brainstorming – first, you need to think of a single purpose for your ebook. There are many uses for this, usually as a bait for people to do a specific action, say subscribe to your newsletter or RSS feeds. If you want to directly make money out of it, you can also consider selling it online.

If you want to use your ebook to promote your blog:

Incorporate your ebook as a free gift upon signing up to your newsletter or RSS feeds. The Newsletter option is rather popular. If you already have an autoresponder provider, you can already create a sign-up form and tell readers that they will be receiving your free ebook when they opt in to your newsletter.

Make sure that after they have confirmed their email address (by clicking on the verification link), they will then be automatically redirected to the download page of you free ebook. Your autoresponder provider has this redirect option, just look for it.

You can see an example of this in my blog. The same principle applies if your choose to give it to your RSS feed subscribers.

If you want to use your ebook to directly make money: Newsletter subscribers are the usual target for affiliate marketing, therefore, you can make money out of getting a huge subscriber list. But if you want to directly make money out of your ebook, you may consider selling it online.

This is much more complicated, but if successful, this will generate you more potential income than just using your ebook as a free promotional tool. You should do an extensive research on internet marketing and on promoting products. However, the basic rules is that you should create a page or website solely dedicated to that product which you will direct your traffic.

Also, you need to have a merchant account on marketing networks such as Clickbank, e-Junkie of PepperJam Network (I recommend Clickbank though). You’ll have to pay a nominal fee for your ebook product to be listed on their system. I heard Clickbank charges a one-time fee of about $49
